EVENT: Master Class for SMEs
March 06 15:55 2017 Print This Article

Summary

With the General Data Protection Regulation coming into force in 2018, companies need to start preparing to meet all of the legal requirements. The GDPR applies to all companies that handle, store and process personal data of EU citizens, regardless of company size or Brexit taking place. It applies to both Data Controllers and Data Processors, and has an extraterritorial reach affecting companies based outside of the EU.

Cyber Counsel will be holding a Master Class that is specially designed for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), that have been recognised to have the most challenge in complying with the GDPR. SMEs often don’t have the same level of training or resources available as larger companies but GDPR awareness is important for all companies, regardless of size. With fines of up to €20 million or 4% of global annual turnover, whichever is higher, it is essential for companies to learn about the new Regulation and how they can comply. The Master Class will explain everything you need to know about the GDPR, the new requirements and how to implement it to maintain full compliance and avoid infringements or fines.
