What is GDPR?

The GDPR regulates the processing of personal data belonging to EU citizens, and is designed to strengthen and unify data protection for everyone within the European Union. Companies processing and holding the personal data of citizens residing in the European Union, regardless of the company’s location, are required to comply by this regulation.

Tictail and GDPR

Your privacy is and has always been important to us at Tictail. In keeping with our commitment to building a community-driven platform you can trust, we’ve taken the following measures in compliance with GDPR:

  • We’ve updated our Privacy Policy (effective May 25th, 2018)
  • We’ve documented our data processing activities as well as those of any external services we use
  • We’re reviewing agreements with external services to ensure protection of personal data
  • We’ve set up new processes to handle data deletion requests and access requests

More information for shop owners

As a shop owner, you can rest assured that we provide your customers with all necessary support surrounding GDPR. We also make sure that all shoppers with Tictail accounts agree to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and that those without accounts agree to our Privacy Policy and your shop’s own terms before checkout. This way, we can ensure that all customers are provided with legal terms that are compliant with this new legislation.

If you’re processing personal data outside of Tictail—or have your own Terms of Service or Privacy Policy—you may also need to review your own data processing activities.

If your customers on Tictail are requesting deletion, correction, access, or an export of their data, you can direct them to to have one of our support agents handle the case.
